We only share personal data where necessary and always in the strictest of confidence:Healthcare professionals including the GP and Ophthalmologists.Other optical practices where specific consent has been given. Frame suppliers, glazing laboratories and contact lens suppliers. Software provider for our optical database.We do not sell or pass your personal data onto other companies.We do not transfer your personal data to countries outside of the UK.Where consent has been given, you have the right to withdraw it at any time.

 

How Long We Keep Your Data.

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary and in line with the retention period recommended as good practice by the College of Optometrists and in linewith Health Board Policy and UK Legislation.We hold data for ten years after our last contact with you. If you were under 18years of age, we will keep your data until your 25 th Birthday.Once the data that we hold is no longer required, it is securely destroyed.

 

How We Keep Your Data Secure

Patient records are only accessed by healthcare professionals working inpractice and non-clinical practice staff under their supervision.All patient information emailed to ophthalmologists, GP or other optical practices are sent via a secure NHS email address. Our electronic Optical Database is fully protected and backed up on a regularbasis.8.
